MindTouch, SnapLogic Collaborate on Deki for CRM
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
MindTouch, creator of an open-source social enterprise collaboration platform, and SnapLogic have announced Deki for CRM, described by company officials as a product to help customers get more value from their existing CRM systems, such as SugarCRM and Salesforce.com ( News - Alert), "through augmented intelligence and team collaboration."
Users can create and collaborate on reports and mashups, accessing customer information in Salesforce.com and SugarCRM without the need for advanced SOAP Web services programming, MindTouch officials say.
CRM systems often require data from other applications and data sources in order to handle leads, manage accounts, and "coordinate strategy to win new business," SnapLogic officials say, adding that Deki for CRM allows employees to share expertise across the silos of the company "as independent systems are mashed up in a centralized space."
The product allows collaboration using SnapLogic data pipelines from CRM applications such as SugarCRM and Salesforce.com, and other enterprise data sources such as external financial systems, product databases, and order processing systems.
A free, 15-day trial of Deki for CRM in a functional VMware appliance is available now from both www.mindtouch.com and www.snaplogic.com. Deki for CRM starts at $15,000 and is available for purchase from MindTouch at www.mindtouch.com.
Last month SnapLogic announced the Salesforce.com Solution Pack, an extension to the SnapLogic open source data integration framework.
The company lets enterprises integrate data "on both sides of the enterprise firewall," company officials said, and "create custom integration products, including application integrations, enterprise mashups, and rich Internet applications."
The Salesforce.com Solution Pack is intended to allow integration of Salesforce.com with other SaaS ( News - Alert) applications, behind-the-firewall enterprise applications, Web sites, and other data sources.
Recently SnapLogic also announced its SugarCRM Solution Pack, which supports both standard SugarCRM deployments as well as Sugar On-Demand implementations.
The pack includes SnapLogic Resources for reading, writing, and updating data in Salesforce.com accounts. Integration pipelines can be created, and uses of the Salesforce.com Solution Pack include integrating Salesforce.com account records with in-house accounting systems and other enterprise applications, as well as migrating customer records from internal CRM systems to Salesforce.com.
