Comprehensive Exhibition of Cutting-Edge IT and Electronics, CEATEC JAPAN 2008 Announces Outline of the Life Contents Frontier Exhibit
TOKYO --(Business Wire)-- The CEATEC JAPAN Management Office today announced new details of its activities to strengthen the international digital contents market at CEATEC JAPAN 2008, scheduled to be held from September 30 to October 4 at Makuhari Messe (Chiba Prefecture). This year's show will highlight activities to realize brand new contents concepts and business models through links between contents creators, contents production companies, software developers and hardware makers. The show will use these activities to help vitalize the digital contents market and promote new business opportunities, thereby contributing to tomorrow's activities and digital contents-related businesses.
This year, CEATEC JAPAN has once again been designated an official event of the Japan International Contents Festival. Among the special programs being planned by the show sponsors is the Digital Contents Business Park, a special exhibit area where companies in digital contents businesses can introduce themselves and create business opportunities. In addition, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will sponsor the Life Contents Frontier as part of its International Contents Market Reinforcement Activities. This Special Exhibit will paint a picture of the future of diverse contents in lifestyle scenes with the goal of promoting original Japanese contents technologies.
Outline of the Life Contents Frontier
Experience the new role of contents in our society and the lifestyle scenes that will develop with these contents. At CEATEC JAPAN 2008, the Life Contents Frontier Special Exhibit will gather the diverse achievements and new ideas of companies in contents-related businesses, showing the potential of contents in our daily lives beyond the framework of conventional entertainment.
Many products and services we see today use contents made possible by combining the technological prowess of software and hardware makers with the creativity of contents developers. Thanks to gentler interfaces between people and lifestyles, we stand at the threshold of a new era of safety, peace of mind, comfort and well-being on levels never experienced before.
The Life Contents Frontier will also be linked with official activities under METI's roadmap for the development of contents-related technologies. The exhibit will offer specific ideas drawing on the full potential of new "life contents" and realized through the collaboration of software and hardware that enrich both our lives and our spirits. Visitors from around the world will experience new roles and expressions of contents, and the activities being undertaken to realize this potential through innovative software and hardware technologies.
