Appian was reportedly recognized as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Human-Centric BPM for Java Platforms, Q3 2007. The innovative global provider of business process management (BPM) technology has been recognized for its strong analytics and collaboration capabilities.

Forrester invited select companies including Appian to participate in this Forrester Wave Report, which evaluated leading human-centric business process management suite (BPMS) vendors across approximately 150 criteria. Appian’s BPM suite, Appian Enterprise was found to be the easiest to use for building processes that pull together human work, analytics, and collaboration tools.

Highlighting Appian’s competitive advantages and key differentiators, the report said that as a pure-play process specialist Appian boasts a background in BI, as well as in monstrous deployments in terms of the number of users. According to the report, Appian also has extremely powerful methods to administer massive numbers of end users. Forrester recognizes the company’s true thought leadership in integrating BPM with BI, and also in expanding BPM to include collaboration tools for ad hoc processes.

Further elaborating on Appian, The Forrester Wave said that the company’s thought leadership in the areas of analytics and collaboration has raised the bar for other vendors and truly differentiated the product. The research firm emphasized that Appian’s development environment is one of the most user-friendly of all those evaluated, without sacrificing functionality along the way. The report said that the solution is 100% Web-based with configurable and granular access, and there is also an ’impact analysis’ UI that clearly outlines the hypothetical and real impacts of changes to processes.

Matt Calkins, Appian chief executive officer, said in statement, “Appian not only delivers one of the strongest BPM solutions on the market, but we also provide customers with one of the easiest solutions to deploy and manage, which ensures that they quickly gain value, even in the most complex environments.”
