RightNow Intros CRM for Retail Sector

CRM vendor RightNow Technologies has unveiled a CRM application geared exclusively for the retail sector, the company has announced.

Called RightNow Retail, the new tool is based on RightNow 8, the company's enterprise-class software-as-a-service, and incorporates RightNow's experience working with retail clients, including Cabela’s, Drugstore.com, Hallmark.com and The Sharper Image.

RightNow Technologies is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana and has long been prominent in the on-demand CRM space.

RightNow Technologies has announced the availability of RightNow Higher Education, a new offering company officials say combines its customer relationship management (CRM) product with "its extensive experience working with more than 100 higher education institutions."

The turn-key product will be marketed as helping institutions "recruit, retain, and inform students," company officials say.

Based on RightNow 8, the company's enterprise-class, on demand product for service, sales and marketing, RightNow Higher Education includes pre-configured guides or templates based on industry best practices "designed to help learning institutions dramatically improve recruitment and retention efforts while reducing costs."

It is available under RightNow's software-as-a-service delivery model.

Higher education institutions consider recruitment of qualified students a top priority, one that is increasingly challenging given budget constraints, competition from other schools, and Internet-savvy prospective students that expect easy, immediate access to information.

Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand is one university using RightNow products to assist with the tasks. "RightNow has helped us quickly, accurately and cost effectively communicate with prospective students, bolstering our recruiting efforts," said Charles Brooks, the university's international e-marketing manager.

Last month RightNow was named a leader in the Q1 2007 Forrester Wave report, "Midmarket CRM Suites."
