Global Crossing Upgrades Network Collaboration Services
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
IP systems provider Global Crossing announced it has upgraded its wholesale collaboration services, a move that would make it easier for providers to deliver services to their end-users.
The upgrades include a single on-boarding platform now available for carriers, which can be used to deliver collaboration services.
Global Crossing's upgrades will now allow providers that are interested in deploying services in multiple locations globally to develop a support structure to streamline the ordering process, improving workflows and modifying back-office systems. The technology also allows for the support to receive voice, data and IP services.
"Global Crossing is taking a unique approach to the wholesale collaboration space by integrating our offers on a global scale to deliver a consistent customer experience worldwide for our service provider customers," said Anthony Christie, chief marketing officer for Global Crossing, in a statement. "This new global initiative encompasses all functional areas within the company and is designed to build on the company's already notable momentum."
The news comes on the heels of Global Crossing inking a new networking deal with Waukesha Bearings, a fluid film provider for turbo machinery suppliers earlier this month. Under a new agreement, Global Crossing will provide Waukesha Bearings with a new fully-managed IP Virtual Private Network (VPN ).
With Global Crossing's IP VPN in place, Waukesha Bearings should be able to ultimately move towards convergence of voice in the future by integrating IP and data traffic on its network. Global Crossing's IP VPN service is used by customers to keep its remote employees connected to the information they need to conduct business.
