On4 Communications Announces Pet Tracking Device![]() TMCnet Contributing Editor On4 Communications, Inc., a developer of location-based products, this week announced its PetsCell, a GPS-assisted, 2-way, voice-enabled pet tracking device.
PetsCell is a waterproof device with voice enabled mobile phone feature that can be attached on a pet’s collar. The pet owner has special number to call if the pet goes missing; this gives them the opportunity to talk to the person who finds the pet.
On4 hopes that the new device will bring peace of mind to pet owners. The product’s GPS features also allow owners to track their pet’s location in real time by using a handheld device or desktop PC. PetsCell also allows pet owners to set geographical boundaries; if the pet goes beyond the pre-set boundaries, the device will automatically alert the pet owner through its e-mail notification service.
Cameron Robb, CEO and Co-founder of Petsmobility, commented: “Our entire team is extremely pleased to have achieved final production units of this unique and functional device which will provide pet owners with the world's first accurate GPS tracking and voice communication tracking solution optimized for pets.”
Robb added: “The industry has long awaited an effective tracking solution for lost pets and I believe the PetsCell provides the solution. The ability to speak directly with the person who finds your pet is very comforting.”
On4 Communications is a developer of devices used in tracking assets, inventory, people and pets. The company’s wireless tracking solutions use LBS wireless software technology to provide comprehensive solutions and specific content.
