HERNDON, Va. --(Business Wire)-- May 8, 2006 -- nexVortex, the Business Grade Voice over IP Company, today announced that it has appointed Frederick R. Fromm as Chairman, President and CEO.
Fromm is a telecommunications industry veteran, having spent more than 33 years in a variety of senior executive positions. He was formerly CEO of Siemens' North American Communications Unit and also served as President and CEO of Oplink Communications, where he led a successful IPO in 2000. Fromm has served as chief executive of several other telecommunications startup companies, including Gluon Networks and Mobeon.
"We welcome Fred to nexVortex, where we expect his executive experience and leadership capabilities will drive our company to new levels of growth," commented Terry Prime, company co-founder, CTO and EVP of Engineering at nexVortex. "With the addition of Fred, we are rounding out our management team and positioning our business to meet the increasing demand for Business Grade VoIP."
"Over the past 10 years, I have been highly enthusiastic about the opportunity in VoIP," Fromm commented. "For most of that time, I believed that VoIP was not ready for business because it did not offer the quality and reliability required by the business customer. nexVortex is the only company that can provide customers all the cost advantages of VoIP without compromising voice quality or service reliability.
