It is a first step toward the company's building operations in the country and meeting the changeable needs of telecommunications carriers in the Chinese market. BroadSoft designs VoIP application software, a new Internet-based telephone service which lets fixed and mobile service providers offer calling features to their enterprise and residential customers. It is turning into a threat, from which traditional telecoms carriers face the prospect of new mounting competition. The company is to open the office at the end of June, in order to keep a position in the market and better serve local customers. "With the new office in Beijing, our talents will lead the team to help Chinese telecoms suppliers deploy feature-rich and revenue-generating VoIP services to desk telephones, personal computers, and mobile phones." Since the year 2003, BroadSoft has extended to China and been in partnership with a few local telecoms providers in the country.
