NMS Communications' Continues to Expand Global Roster of Innovative Application Developers

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS) continues to reinforce its position as a leading provider of technologies and platforms for value-added services with a roundup of the innovative applications recently deployed by its customers in enterprises and carrier networks around the world, all built around its Open Access(TM) scalable media and signal processing platforms.

Some of the most exciting new applications involve mobile video and interactive TV. For example, in Europe, a leading provider of solutions for value-added communication services has used Open Access to build a tele-voting service solution. Handling up to 4,000 calls per second, the tele-voting solution illustrates hallmarks of NMS's media processing and signaling offerings, including carrier-grade performance and scalability.

Also in Europe, CreaLog, a market leader in voice and video portal solutions for service providers and the financial enterprises now provides mobile Interactive Voice and Video Response (IVVR) offerings for entertainment, mobile shopping, banking, and customer service, all controlled by speech - and all built on NMS's highly flexible and reliable Open Access platforms.

Similarly, a major Western European fixed-line and mobile operator has developed several media-intense applications based on Open Access to enable ARPU-driving services which include 3G video and prepaid IVR, which allows mobile calling cards to be recharged from a cell phone.

Open Access products are also helping fuel the development of innovative mobile services around Asia. In India, for example, Open Access is used by OnMobile, a pioneer and leader in telecom value-added services, to enable its multi-modal voice portal and ringback tone solution. OnMobile's offerings are deployed by major telecom operators and enterprises in India and around the world.

A major Chinese network equipment provider (NEP) with business and operations around the globe has also chosen an Open Access platform, for a mobile TV solution it plans to make available next month. NMS worked closely with the NEP's marketing staff and engineers to ensure a set of features that result in a differentiated offering aimed at providing a quality user experience and driving increased ARPU for mobile operators around the world.

Open Access also powers more conventional but equally valuable applications around the region, and the world. In Korea, for example, YesSpeech has created an OpenAccess-based speech recognition customer care solution for major Korean mobile operator KTF. For KTF, superb customer service is central to their brand, so the YesSpeech solution is critical to KTF's success.

Similarly, NMS partner Nekotec Telecom recently helped a major Latin American service provider implement an integrated solution for its Customer Care Center. Nekotec based its solution on NMS's Open Access media processing and signaling platforms because they are not only better matched to the service provider's current requirements but can easily handle future enhancements.

"Future-proofed flexibility, along with high-performance media and signal processing, are fundamental) elements of the Open Access family and are particularly important as networks around the world are converging and transitioning to the IMS architecture," said John Orlando, CMO of NMS Communications. "These are some of the reasons that the most innovative application developers continue to build their solutions for carriers and the enterprise with NMS technology."

NMS's Open Access is acknowledged worldwide as the developer's platform of choice: the broadest media and signal processing product line from a single vendor; the most flexible platforms; a range of densities and delivery formats, from HMP to AdvancedTCA; the broadest set of libraries and tools within the core development environment; carrier-grade and ready for deployment any network.
