Boulder weather: Snow begins to fall, 2 inches expected today

Snow began falling in Boulder around 11 a.m. and has continued to intensify, with up to 2 inches expected to fall before midnight tonight, according to the National Weather Service.



Today's forecast calls for cloudy skies with a high near 28 and winds 7 mph. There is a 70 percent chance of snow, with an inch of snow accumulation during the daytime hours expected.

The overnight low is expected to be near 15, with winds 6 mph. There is a 50 percent chance of snow before midnight, with one inch of new snow accumulation possible.


Friday's forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high near 39 and winds 5 to 8 mph. The overnight low is expected to be near 18, with winds 5 to 9 mph.

Saturday's forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 54 and winds 8 to 11 mph with gusts as high as 18 mph. The overnight low is expected to be near 30.
