(Nasdaq: VSAT) has introduced a small form factor version of its LinkWayS2 satellite modem that enables it to occupy less space than the standard, rack-mount 1 RU chassis. The ViaSat CBM-100 modem is an embeddable card set for use in more tactical applications. The new modem configuration will support all features and functions of LinkWay® software versions 8.3 and 9.x, including newly developed communications on-the-move (COTM) profiles and networking efficiency enhancements. Targeted for terminal and integrated baseband kit embedment, the ViaSat CBM-100 will be available for order in June 2013.
