ViaSat LinkWay(S2) Satellite Modem Now Available in an Embeddable Card Set


CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT) has introduced a small form factor version of its LinkWayS2 satellite modem that enables it to occupy less space than the standard, rack-mount 1 RU chassis. The ViaSat CBM-100 modem is an embeddable card set for use in more tactical applications.



(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20091216/VIASATLOGO) The small form factor ViaSat CBM-100, a less than 45-watt, 9 x 7.75 x 2.5 inch configuration, is designed to maintain its superior latency and jitter performance while operating in full mesh configurations at the industry's highest MF-TDMA throughput rates.

The new modem configuration will support all features and functions of LinkWay® software versions 8.3 and 9.x, including newly developed communications on-the-move (COTM) profiles and networking efficiency enhancements. Targeted for terminal and integrated baseband kit embedment, the ViaSat CBM-100 will be available for order in June 2013.
