Bandwidth Positions for Future Growth with Agarwal as COO

By Greg Tavarez January 02, 2025

Bandwidth Inc. is a unique player in the world of communication technology. They're not your typical phone company. Instead of focusing on clunky landlines and outdated services, Bandwidth (News - Alert) has built a strong platform that allows businesses to easily integrate voice, text and even 911 services directly into their own applications.

They've essentially become the backstage crew for many of the communication tools used every day. Need to book a ride-sharing service? Chances are, the communication happening behind the scenes – from the initial request to the driver's arrival – is powered by Bandwidth's technology. They've quietly become the backbone of how businesses connect with their customers. They make interactions smoother, more efficient and more personalized.

What sets Bandwidth apart is that they're constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible with communication. They explore new technologies like AI and machine learning to enhance customer experiences.

Bandwidth is in a really good spot right now. Their solutions cover more than 65 countries and over 90% of global GDP, and are trusted by countless leaders in unified communications and cloud contact centers.

And in a recent move to solidify its position in the communications industry, Bandwidth announced Devesh Agarwal as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

"Devesh has demonstrated both the vision and the heart for our mission to serve customers while also lifting up Bandmates globally," expressed David Morken, Bandwidth's CEO. "He has earned the respect of our customers, his team and all of us at Bandwidth, and I'm excited about what we will achieve together going forward.”

Agarwal is a proven technology executive with sales, go-to-market, customer co-creation and P&L leadership experience at large organizations, including Oracle (News - Alert).

He joined Bandwidth in July 2022 as chief software strategy officer, where he led the design and development of Bandwidth's recently announced global Universal Platform and accelerated delivery of key innovations including the award-winning Bandwidth Maestro platform. Since July 2024, Agarwal served as interim COO.

As COO, Devesh will be responsible for driving Bandwidth's strategic vision forward by building strong relationships with customers worldwide, developing a culture of innovation, ensuring operational efficiency and enhancing Bandwidth’s company culture.

“I'm honored to lead as chief operating officer at such an important time in Bandwidth's growth and evolution,” said Agarwal. “Bandwidth's strong customer base, market leadership and product innovation are enviable. I look forward to working alongside our talented Bandmates to drive further growth, deliver exceptional value to customers and help write the next chapter of our success.”

This move seems to be a positive step for Bandwidth. Agarwal clearly has a strong background that aligns with Bandwidth's focus on developing cutting-edge cloud communication solutions. If anything, the move to appoint Agarwal as COO only demonstrates a commitment to internal talent development and positions the company for continued success in the competitive cloud communications space.
