ISPs and Device Manufacturers Benefit from Spirent's Expanded Wi-Fi Testing Tools

I recently wrote an article that discussed Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 7 offers faster speeds and wider channels than Wi-Fi 6. It uses advanced techniques like 4K QAM to transmit more data, resulting in a substantial performance increase.

It’s because of those features that companies are coming up with solutions to accommodate them. That's why in the article I wrote, Juniper Networks (News - Alert) announced enhancements to its AI-Native Networking Platform that helps take full advantage of Wi-Fi 7. Read more about it here.




Now, others are following suit.

Spirent Communications, a global provider of automated test and assurance solutions for networks, cybersecurity and positioning, recently announced upgrades to its Octobox Wi-Fi testing platform. These enhancements are designed to meet the evolving needs of ISPs and device manufacturers as Wi-Fi technology continues to advance.

One of the key additions to the Octobox portfolio is a series of pre-configured testbeds specifically tailored for Wi-Fi 7. These testbeds offer testing capabilities for access points, devices and mesh systems. Most notably, though, Spirent (News - Alert) introduced an isolated-chamber testbed for Wi-Fi 7 endpoint devices. This creates rigorous testing and optimization for a wide range of consumer products.

Spirent also developed a specialized configuration for testing mesh networks. This solution focuses on backhaul testing, a critical aspect of Wi-Fi 7 performance. Spirent helps to guarantee the overall performance and stability of mesh networks, even as the number of connected devices increases, by providing reliable and efficient backhaul links.
