The telecommunications industry is what makes communication possible on a global scale, whether through phones, the internet or satellites. These companies we often write about and publish on Internet Telephony create the infrastructure that allows data, including text, voice, audio or video, to be sent anywhere in the world.




For example, LEAP, The Horizon Information Technology, started a strategic collaboration with Vonage to fortify its global outreach and scalability. Windstream (News - Alert) Wholesale recently expanded into two prominent data centers in Alpharetta, Georgia. And Grain Management reached an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in 123NET, a key player in Michigan's communications landscape.

These trends all drive demand for faster, more reliable and more affordable telecommunications services. But those aren’t the only news circling around the industry.

Intermedia (News - Alert) Offers Free Archiving for Intermedia Unite

Intermedia is offering a free 30-day archiving option for their all-in-one communication platform, Intermedia Unite. This includes call recordings, video meetings, chats and SMS. Intermedia Archiving helps businesses comply with regulations, manage data and retrieve information easily. They also offer paid plans for longer archive periods. This service has been well-received by customers and industry analysts.

Edgecore's OLS Delivers Network Flexibility

Edgecore Wi-Fi launched its OpenLAN Switching, or OLS, product line, boasting a wide range of switch models designed for various network needs. The OLS series caters to environments from small offices to large enterprises, with features like multi-Gigabit capabilities and PoE support.

Edgecore aims to address the Telecom Infra Project's OpenLAN Switching initiative's goals, including open-source systems and future-proof designs for Wi-Fi 6 and beyond. Their switch series include ECS1100 for small offices, ECS2100 for mid-sized businesses, ECS4100 for enterprises, ECS4125 and ECS4150 for high-end needs, and ECS4650 for data centers and large enterprises.

Edgecore's OLS solutions focus on adaptability and scalability for network upgrades while ensuring compliance with current standards and future technologies.

Ng-voice's IMS Solution Adapts to Any Network

Ng-voice showcased latest solutions to help telecom operators reduce costs, optimize operations with AI and launch new revenue-generating applications. Their 100% containerized Hyperscale IMS solution offers significant cost savings, easy deployment and future-proofs networks for VoLTE/VoNR. This architecture-agnostic solution allows for flexible deployment and automates operations for maximum efficiency.

QuProtect Core Security Safeguards Cisco (News - Alert) Routers

QuSecure releases QuProtect Core Security, a software solution to safeguard existing Cisco routers against potential threats from quantum computers. This solution offers post-quantum cryptography, or PQC, encryption without needing hardware upgrades for Cisco routers. It integrates with Cisco's existing framework and uses NIST's PQC standards. Key benefits include seamless integration, cost-effectiveness and adaptability to future advancements in cryptography. This launch aims to simplify the transition to PQC encryption for businesses and organizations.

SignalWire Launches SignalWire Call Fabric

SignalWire launched SignalWire Call Fabric, a cloud-based communication platform built upon the legacy of FreeSWITCH. It offers businesses an easier way to create and manage communication solutions with features like call flow builder, scripts and AI agents. This allows businesses to customize their communication infrastructure without the complexity of traditional platforms.

SignalWire Call Fabric is ideal for businesses looking to upgrade their communication systems or for integrators to develop new communication solutions.

Zultys (News - Alert) Equips Businesses with Powerful Reporting and Analytics Tools in Release 18

Zultys released a major update to their communication platform, MX system Release 18, which improves overall performance, security and user experience. ZAC 9, the new version of their desktop application, features better audio/video conferencing, MMS support, enhanced messaging and improved security.

The new Mobile ZAC app offers similar features and functionalities as ZAC 9. It allows users to communicate and collaborate on the go. Zultys also upgraded their reporting and administrative tools with MX Report 4.2 and MX Web Administrator 2.0 for better analytics and remote system management.

With all that said, the telecommunications industry is a vital part of the global economy. These trends we continue to see will only continue to help the industry grow in the years to come.
