Canva and Monotype Bring 1,000+ More Font Styles to Creators Around the World
WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Monotype Imaging Inc., a global leader in type and technology, and Canva, the global visual communication platform, are expanding their partnership to bring greater typographic choice to Canva's global creator community, adding more than 1,000 new font styles from Monotype and its global network of foundry partners. The expansion brings the total number of Monotype and foundry partner font styles available in Canva to more than 3,000.
The expansion significantly broadens typographic choice across languages and writing systems that have historically had fewer professional-quality font options available in creative tools, with substantial additions in Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Khmer, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese. Some of the largest increases in typographic choice are across Hindi, Bengali, and Vietnamese, with the expansion adding 99 Hindi families and 298 styles, 72 Bengali families and 237 styles, and 114 Vietnamese-supporting families and 249 styles. The expansion builds on the partnership Canva and Monotype established in 2023. Since then, fonts from Monotype and its foundry partner have been used in more than one billion Canva designs, underscoring the importance of typographic choice to Canva's global creator community. "Creative professionals are creating more content, across more markets and languages. In that environment, being distinctive matters. Typography plays a powerful role in how an idea, identity, or brand becomes recognizable. Our expanded partnership with Canva gives creators greater choice to make work that stands out, while communicating in a way that feels relevant to their audience," said Karen Brewer, Chief Marketing Officer at Monotype. "Supporting the characters in a language is only the starting point," said Charles Nix, Global Head of Creative Strategy at Monotype. "Real choice means having different voices, styles, and personalities to choose from. By bringing more than 1,000 additional styles in a wide array of scripts to Canva, we're giving more creators the freedom to find type that fits not only their language, but how they speak visually." "Canva's community creates for audiences, cultures, and markets all over the world. As that community grows, we want the creative choices available to them to grow too. Expanding our work with Monotype gives creators across more languages access to a much broader range of typography and more ways to express what they want to say," said Morgan Selzer, Canva's Global Head of Content Partnerships. The expanded collection is available now for Canva users. Explore the Monotype font library in Canva. By the numbers:
