Cross-Border Impact Ventures Announces US$58 Million First Close of Women's and Children's Health Technology Fund IICross-Border Impact Ventures (CBIV) today announced the first close of its second fund, the Women's and Children's Health Technology Fund II, securing US$58 million toward a target fund size of US$125 million. The new fund has attracted commitments from both returning and new institutional investors, reflecting continued confidence in CBIV's investment strategy, team, and track record. LPs in the new fund include returning investors who doubled down, including KfW on behalf of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Skoll Foundation with its OCIO - Capricorn Investment Group, Ceniarth, Equality Fund with its OCIO - RockCreek Group, Wire Group, and several family offices and high-net-worth individuals, among others. CBIV expects to complete the final close of Fund II in 2027. CBIV invests in companies developing technologies that address conditions affecting women and children specifically, differently or disproportionately at the Series A or B stage. CBIV's inaugural US$90.3 million Fund I invested in 11 technology companies spanning maternal and fetal health, neonatal care, cardiovascular disease, oncology, respiratory health, reproductive health and gut health. Fund I had a successful strategic exit and helped the portfolio reach more than 356,000 women and children across 32 countries. Fund II represents a disciplined evolution of CBIV's original investment thesis while maintaining its focus on early-growth-stage deep tech companies commercializing medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, and AI-enabled digital health technologies with the potential to generate strong financial returns alongside measurable health outcomes. CBIV has also introduced an integrated climate lens into its investment process for Fund II, has further strengthened its impact approach, and may invest earlier in some high-potential companies.
