Kraken Launches Fixed Rate Rewards, Giving Accredited US Investors Fixed APYs of Up to 7% on Cash and Stablecoins


Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing and most secure crypto platforms, today announced the launch of Fixed Rate Rewards for US accredited investors, a new addition to its Earn product that lets eligible clients lock a portion of their Kraken balance into a fixed-term reward at a fixed annual percentage yield (APY) of up to 7%.

With Fixed Rate Rewards, clients pick a lockup term - 3, 6, 12, or 18 months - for eligible fiat and stablecoin balances, and the rate secured at the time of allocation is the rate they keep for the entire term. Rewards compound weekly into the same allocation, and users can opt in to auto-renew so their balance renews at maturity for the same term without any manual steps.

"Many Kraken clients holding cash or stablecoins want the same thing: a clear, fixed-rate yield on that cash," said John Zettler, Director of Product, Kraken Earn & Trade. "Fixed Rate Rewards provides that certainty. You choose how long to lock your cash & stables, agree on a rate, and then get a steady stream of predictable cash rewards."

How Fixed Rate Rewards works

  • Choose a term. Terms of 3, 6, 12, or 18 months are available at launch, with longer terms generally eligible for higher rates.
  • Lock your rate. The rate you see at allocation is fixed for the full term. Any rate changes apply only to new allocations.
  • Earn automatically. Rewards compound weekly into your allocation.
  • Set it and leave it. Auto-renew is opt-in at allocation and can be toggled at any point during the term. With auto-renew on, balances re-lock at maturity at the prevailing rate for the same term; with it of, funds get returned at maturity.

Fixed Rate Rewards is available on eligible balances of both fiat (USD, EUR) and stablecoins (USDT, USDC, and USDG), and is accessible in both Kraken's Consumer and Pro apps, across both web and mobile.

Availability is subject to geographic and eligibility restrictions, and the product is not available in all markets. In the United States, participation is limited to accredited investors. Reward rates are subject to change. Participation in the Fixed Rate Rewards Program involves an element of risk and may not be suitable for everyone.
