Redis Named the Most Loved Database for Second Consecutive YearMOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Redis Labs, the home of Redis and provider of Redis Enterprise, today announced that Redis has been named the most loved database in Stack Overflow's Developer Survey—the second year in a row Redis has led the field in the database category. The 2018 survey included more than 100,000 responses from coders in 183 countries and dependent territories—Stack Overflow's largest ever. Stack Overflow, the world's largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge and build their careers, today released the Stack Overflow Annual Developer Survey results. The annual survey asked developers about the technologies they used the most, which they wanted to continue working with, and which they wished to stop working with. Redis is the sixth most commonly used (by 18 percent of respondents) and is the most loved database, with 64.5 percent of respondents saying they want to continue to develop with this technology at an extensive level. More and more, users demand database platforms that offer the versatility and resource efficiency necessary to power the next generation of applications—functionality that legacy databases lack. The Redis platform provides that advanced functionality, enabling users to power a broad range of solutions in a variety of use cass. Redis has been named a 2017 Top-50 Developer Tool and the number seven Application & Data Tool of the Year by Stackshare, making it the first database solution ever to appear in Stackshare's top 10 list. Additionally, Redis has climbed two spots to number eight in the DB-Engines Rankings. "We are proud to be the home of Redis - the database with such widespread affinity and adoption by developers worldwide," said Ofer Bengal, CEO of Redis Labs. "It is exciting to see the community continue to hold Redis in the highest esteem, and we are committed to continuing to provide our customers with the features and functionality they need to build the fastest and most powerful applications." "Our 2018 survey has broken the records: with over 100,000 developers telling us what matters to them," said Jay Hanlon, Stack Overflow vice president. "We're seeing a number of trends emerging, following 2017's survey - including the desire among the global developer community to continue working with the Redis database platform." Redis Labs will be hosting its annual Redis Community Conference, RedisConf18 April 24-26 in San Francisco. For more information or to register, visit http://redisconf.com/.
