Ghana,United States : JOHAN FERREIRA to serve as head of NEWMONT's AFRICAN operations [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Newmont Africa has appointed Johan Ferreira as Regional Senior Vice President of Newmont Mining Corporation s Africa Operations. In 2012, Mr. Ferreira started serving at Newmont Africa as the Group Executive Operations and led a cross-functional team which focused in enhancing safety, operational and cost performance of the region. Earlier to his service with Newmont, Mr. Ferreira held leadership positions with AngloGold Ashanti s South Africa region serving as the Senior Vice President in charge of Operations. Mr. Ferreira will assume responsibilities of Newmont s Africa region from Dave Schummer, who has completed his assignment and is set to return the United States. Johan Ferreira, said, It is an honour to lead Newmont s Africa Operations, a key growth region for the company. My predecessor, Dave Schummer, built a solid foundation streamlining our cost structure, optimizing our operations and making the business more sustainable.
