Michael Miller Inducted Onto Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LOS ANGELES, March 19 -- The Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion issued the following news release: Michael Miller was inducted onto the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion at its meeting in Cincinnati on October 28, 2013.



Miller is a founding Member and Principal of various real estate companies. He is the Manager of Yonezawa Miller Company, LLC, a national real estate investor focusing on triple net office properties. He is the also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cordary, Inc., a family-owned real estate investment company specializing in the development, repositioning, and management of commercial and multi-family residential properties since 1976. Cordary has owned and operated over 2.500 residential units and its current portfolio operates under the brand name "California Villages," with locations in Pico Rivera, West Covina, and Valley Village (Los Angeles) totaling 471 units.

Prior to assuming the responsibility for Cordary, Miller practiced corporate and real estate law with the law firm of Munger, Tolles, Rickerhauser and Hills, and then co-founded the Santa Monica law firm of Stern & Miller. At Stern & Milller, he was active in community affairs and was appointed by the city of Santa Monica to form and represent the non-profit corporations responsible for the redevelopment of the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade and the Santa Monica Pier. In 1987, he was appointed by then Lt. Governor Leo McCarthy to serve as a member of the Lt. Governor's Housing Task Force.


Miller is a graduate of Stanford School of Law (1975) and received the B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz (1972). At Stanford University, he was awarded the Lawrence S. Fletcher Memorial Award, elected Stanford Associate, served on the Law School's Dean's Advisory Council, Board of Visitors, and chaired the Class of 1975 Reunion Council. He is a member of the Vice Chairman's Council of the Republican Jewish Coalition, and a member of the Board of Advisors of St. John's Hospital, Santa Monica.

Previously, he served on the Community Relations Committee of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation and was President of the Western Region Community Relations Council. He participated on the Mission to the Soviet Union to Meet Jewish Refuseniks with California Lt. Governor Leo McCarthy and Jackie McCarthy. He was the President of the Jewish Federation Western Region of Los Angeles and Western Region Jewish Federation Campaign Chair. He also served on the Greater Los Angeles Jewish Federation Board of Directors.

A co-trustee of the Michael D. and Miriam Miller Family Foundation, which supports the College-Institute, Stanford Law School and its Miller Fund for Public Service, St. John's Health Center Foundation in Santa Monica, Claremont Institute, and the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.
