Ascom delivers a mission critical communication solution to Volzhskaya Hydro Power Plant in RussiaGOTHENBURG, Sweden --(Business Wire)-- We are very happy to announce that Ascom (News - Alert) together with the Russian partner DeTeWe has delivered an "on site" communication solution to Volzhskaya Hydro Power Plant. Volzhskaya Hydro Power Plant is one of the biggest Hydro Power Plant in Europe and belongs to the RusHydro JSC group. The solution covers an IP-DECT (News - Alert) based Wireless communication system and Middleware for making an integration to other systems within the plant. The customer requirements was to secure the voice communication all over the plant with the best robust technology and middleware for "on site" communication and with the best cost effectiveness. The staff should be able to receive "mission critical" information in their handsets when they are on the move. It was a must to locate all staff in case of emergency and the staff should be able to activate a personal alarm when needed. To secure communication in environments with a lot of background noise, there was also a need for "push-to-talk" functionality in the syste. In addition to this there was also a demand to locate and control all subcontractors in the territory and to supervise their access permissions.
