NEC Awards MegaPath with SIP Trunking Interoperability Certification

Feb 01, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- NEC Corp. of America announced that MegaPath has earned NEC's Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking Interoperability certification with NEC's Univerge SV8100 and SL1100 communication platforms.

According to a release, these certifications help to ensure NEC's platforms will be able to work seamlessly with MegaPath's SIP Trunking voice services.

NEC said SIP trunking has been shown to affect monthly recurring operating costs over traditional digital telephony services. NEC's Univerge SV8100 Communications Server and the SL1100 communications system are an ideal IP telephony solution for SMBs that wish to compete and grow their businesses over time. Both offer a feature-rich server-based solution that supports voice, video and wireless communications and can be deployed in both branch and remote offices.

"By combining the Univerge SV8100 or SL1100 communications servers and MegaPath's SIP Trunking service, companies can build a strong base for unified communications while simultaneously managing the costs of those communications services," said Ram Menghani, vice president of product management and development for NEC Corp. of America.

"As SIP trunking continues to grow in popularity, it will be important for companies to select solutions that can seamlessly integrate with their existing voice infrastructure," said John Scarborough, vice president of products and services, MegaPath. "MegaPath works with our partners, like NEC, to ensure we deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that meet our customers' voice needs without exhausting their budgets."
