FIAT to Make Jeeps in ChinaGUANGZHOU, Jan 15, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Italian media reported on January 13 that Italy's FIAT Group would sign a new agreement with China Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group, SHSE: 601238). Based on the agreement, FIAT may produce Jeeps in China. According to the report, GAC Group will appoint one production plant to undertake Jeep production task. The products will be solely sold in China domestic market. It is yet unclear which model of Jeep cars will be made in Guangzhou. The report stresses that such cooperation will not pose any negative impact on the U.S. Jeep production. Neither FIAT nor Chrysler Group comments on the report.
