HickoryTech receives two-year SOCRATES contract extension


Dec 13, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- HickoryTech Corporation, a communications solution provider, has received a two-year contract extension to provide internet, data, VoIP and video conferencing services to 64 schools and cooperative education agencies within a distance-learning network spanning across a 12-county region in south central Minnesota.



SOCRATES (South Central Regional Area Telecommunications Systems), a program of the South Central Service Cooperative located in North Mankato, provides learning institutions in south central Minnesota with data and video connectivity that allows for instruction techniques and educational experiences for students and educators.

The new two-year contract will be effective July 1, 2013. Within this new agreement, HickoryTech will increase Internet bandwidth at 12 library sites.
