MetroPCS deploys Acme Packet SolutionNov 16, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Acme Packet (NASDAQ: APKT) said that wireless service provider MetroPCS has deployed Acme Packet's Net-Net Session director to support the world's first commercially available Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service launched in August 2012, as well as MetroPCS' recent launch of Rich Communication Services. MetroPCS deployed the Acme Packet Net-Net Session director session border controller to support its VoLTE and RCS deployments. The Net-Net Session director provides extensive SIP normalization, mediation, and interworking functions that enable operators to efficiently integrate network elements supplied by multiple vendors.
