WAKEFIELD, Mass., Nov 12, 2012 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Comverse(R) (Nasdaq:CNSI), the global leader in business enablement through BSS, mobile Internet, value-added and managed services, today announced that Narasimha "Gani" Nayak will join the company as Senior Vice President, Systems & Solutions, effective November 14, 2012. In this new position, Mr. Nayak will be responsible for all Comverse ("CNS") product marketing, delivery and maintenance.

For the past six years he has served at Alcatel-Lucent in roles including SVP and General Manager, Mobile Payment and Charging Solutions, SVP & GM, Interactive Media and Communications division, and VP & GM, Messaging Products Group. Prior to that, he was VP & GM at Openwave Systems' Messaging Business Unit, and before that, he led the Unified Communications activities at Logica/CMG. In several previous positions, he managed and developed systems involving technologies and domains including unified communications, Internet telephony, and digital cellular networks at Cisco Systems, ECI Telecom, and Hughes Network Systems. Mr. Nayak holds an MBA from Duke University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India.
