Clarus Systems acquired by OPNET Technologies IncMay 31, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- OPNET Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:OPNT), a provider of solutions for application and network performance management, announced on Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of Clarus Systems Inc. Clarus is a software company which has its headquarters in Redwood City, California. The acquisition of privately held Clarus is expected to expand OPNET's product portfolio for application and network performance management. Clarus software is intended to provide end-to-end service management for Enterprise Voice over IP (VoIP), Unified Communications and TelePresence video. Clarus's solution suite, ClarusIPC Plus+, is said to maximise service performance and availability through automated testing, performance monitoring, configuration management and business intelligence reporting. Clarus's customers include Global 100 enterprises in financial services, healthcare, energy, communications, system integrators and managed service providers. The acquisition is expected to be slightly dilutive on a GAAP basis and slightly accretive on a non-GAAP basis for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 ended 30 June 2012, and slightly accretive on a GAAP and non-GAAP basis for the full fiscal year 2013 ending 31 March 2013. The expected impact for the first fiscal quarter and full fiscal year 2013 are subject to completing the accounting for business combinations, OPNET Technologies said.
