Discovery Channel breaks with Bear Grylls of 'Man vs. Wild'Mar 14, 2012 (Tulsa World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Bear Grylls and Discovery are no more. The relationship between the British star of "Man vs. Wild," and the cable network has been terminated, according to hollywoodreporter.com. The reason is the network has "allegedly been unable to get Grylls to participate in two unannounced projects he was contracted for," according to the website, which cited unnamed sources. Grylls has been working with Discovery since "Man vs. Wild" debuted in 2006. The sixth season of the series completed production last August. "Due to a continuing contractual dispute with Bear Grylls, Discovery has terminated all current productions with him," a network spokesperson told the website. Grylls also has numerous endorsement deals and a clothing line, and there is a "Man vs. Wild" video game, reported the website. The adventurer, who served in the British army's Special Air Service, reportedly lives with his family (wife Shara and three young sons, Jesse, Marmaduke and Huckleberry) on an electricity-free private island in Wales. Grylls also owns a home in Malibu, Calif., and a house barge on the Thames River in England, reported the website. ___ (c)2012 Tulsa World (Tulsa, Okla.)
