Oracle agrees acquisition of Endeca


Oct 18, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Business software and hardware systems company Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) revealed today that it has agreed to acquire Endeca Technologies Inc, a provider of unstructured data management, web commerce and business intelligence solutions.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Endeca's products include Endeca InFront, a customer experience management platform, and Endeca Latitude, a technology platform that enables businesses to develop analytic applications which bring together information from unstructured and structured information sources.


According to Oracle the combination of Oracle ATG Commerce and Endeca InFront is expected to enhance cross-channel commerce, merchandising and online customer experiences, while the combination of Oracle Business Intelligence and Endeca Latitude is expected to provide a comprehensive business intelligence foundation and analytic applications, bringing together information from structured and unstructured data sources.

The acquisition is expected to be completed before the end of 2011, subject to customary closing conditions.
