Greenlight lands first 100M customers
Mar 12, 2011 (The Wilson Daily Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Greenlight has signed up its first residential customers with the highest Internet speed available in Wilson.
Vince and Linda Worthington, former Johnston County residents, moved to Wilson after finding out that they could have access to 40 Megabits per second Internet speeds at a lower cost than what they were previously paying.
The highest speed they were able to subscribe to in Johnston County was 7 Mbps.
"The broadband service is the reason we moved to Wilson," said Linda Worthington.
They also took advantage of a recent price decrease for 100 Mbps, the highest Greenlight speed available. The Worthingtons use the Internet extensively for their jobs and for personal use, including online gaming.
Lance Gilman, a Saddle Run resident who recently subscribed to a 100 Mbps package, said the service "blows everyone else away." The high-speed service allows Gilman to stream high-definition films from Netflix on three or four devices at the same time, he said.
