Cox Digital Cable to Launch New 'Middle Eastern' Channel in Northern Virginia

Cox (News - Alert) Digital Cable customers in the Fairfax County and the Fredericksburg regions of northern Virginia will soon be able to enjoy a new channel, the Middle Eastern Broadcasting Network of America (MBN TV), set to launch August 1. MBN TV is the latest addition to Cox's free International Tier of programming that includes 14 channels.


 
"We’re pleased to offer yet another international programming choice to our diverse customer base,” said Janet Barnard, vice president and region manager for Cox Northern Virginia, in a statement. “MBN TV features a variety of compelling content, and is the perfect complement to our existing international lineup.”
 
A 24-hour Middle Eastern network, MBN TV will broadcast from the United States, with coverage spanning America, Canada and Mexico. The network has is built on a programming structure that supports Arabic, Aramaic and English languages. Programming on the channel will include movies, soap operas, documentaries, music concerts, music videos, talk shows, sporting events, educational series, international and local news, and children’s shows.
 
Customers who subscribe to at least the Sports and Information, Movie or Variety programming tiers of Cox Digital Cable will be able to enjoy MBN TV and the International Tier. MBN TV will be available on Cox Digital Cable channel 478.
