Norwalk, CT (June 1, 2007) - Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)) announced today that Tom Wheeler, managing director for Core Capital Partners and former president of both the CTIA and the NCTA, has joined the company as its newest contributing columnist for TMCnet, TMC’s industry-leading Web site covering communications and technology (www.tmcnet.com).

Wheeler’s column, entitled “Wireless Musings,” will appear monthly on TMCnet.

Prior to joining Core Capital Partners, Wheeler was president and CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA (News - Alert)). CTIA is the international organization that represents all sectors of wireless communications: cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio. As president, Wheeler dealt regularly with the senior management of the leading telecommunications companies and worked at the forefront of telecommunications policy and business development.

Prior to his work at CTIA, Wheeler also served as President of the National Cable Television Association, the principal trade association of the cable television industry. NCTA (News - Alert) represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation’s cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry.

Wheeler is also a frequent commentator on technology issues. His opinion columns have been widely published in major daily newspapers, including The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. In 2000, Doubleday published Wheeler’s first book, Take Command: Leadership Lessons of the Civil War on the confluence of business, technology and leadership.

Wheeler is currently on the board of Earthlink, Telephia and WiderThan (News - Alert). In addition, he is the co-founder of SmartBrief, an electronic information service for vertical markets. Wheeler is chairman of the foundation for the National Archives, a former trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts appointed by both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

“Tom Wheeler and TMCnet are truly perfect together,” proclaimed TMC president Rich Tehrani. “Tom has such a unique perspective on the market. Very few individuals possess the ‘insider’s view’ of the wireless world. And with two million unique visitors reading 20 million pages on TMCnet every month, the site provides the perfect forum for his insight.”
