KPCG Sets up Venture Capital Fund in China(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) BEIJING, Apr 30, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --The US-based venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) announced that it has joined forces with TDF Capital to establish its first venture capital fund in China. The USD 360 million fund is named KPCB China, and it has set up offices in Beijing and Shanghai, which will be led by former Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund partner Joe Zhou and TDF Capital partners Tina Ju, David Su and Forrest Zhong. KPCB has been running venture capital business in Silicon Valley for 35 years, but it does as strong in the Chinese market as in Silicon Valley. Therefore, the firm needs to seek the partners who have successful experience in the country. The venture capital that can be invested in the Chinese market stood at USD 20.042 billion in 2006, rising 16.5 percent over a year earlier.
