Ojerinde Appointed JAMB Registrar


(AllAfrica.com English Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Minna, Apr 21, 2007 (This Day/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) --The pioneer Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has been appointed Registrar/ Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).



According to a statement by NECO Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folake Eweje, the Federal Government has, however, appointed the Director, Post-Graduate School of University of Ibadan, Prof. Promise Okpala to replace Ojerinde as NECO's Registrar/Chief Executive.

Ojerinde became NECO's pioneer chief executive at its inception in 1999 and was about completing his second term tenure before his new posting to head the nation's university matriculations Board.


Ojerinde, who has also worked as the Registrar, Centre for Education Measurement (CEM) and the National Board for Education Measurement (NBEM), is among the few pioneer Professors of Tests and Measurement in the country.

According to the statement, the appointments of Ojerinde and Okpala to their respective new offices are with immediate effect.

Under Ojerinde, NECO did not only attain international recognition but became a member of the reputable world examinations' body, National and Interna-tional Education/ Examination Associations.
