Porter Selects Encentuate TCI for Healthcare for Enterprise Access Security; Encentuate Combines Physical and Logical Access into Single Security Solution for Indiana Hospital

FOSTER CITY, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 9, 2005 -- Encentuate, Inc., a provider of enterprise access security solutions, today announced that Porter, a network of healthcare facilities throughout northwest Indiana, has selected Encentuate's TCI Solution for Healthcare to help improve access security and comply with industry regulations. TCI will be deployed initially for physicians, clinicians and nurses at Porter's network, with additional roll-out to remaining employees over the next several months. The solution will help reduce Porter's dependence on multiple usernames and passwords by incorporating access rights to both physical facilities and Porter's hospital information system into employees' HID badges.

With TCI, Porter's staff and medical professionals can use their employee ID badge to access the building and approved areas within Porter, as well as to access approved shared workstations and software applications. By integrating physical and computer access into the ID badge, Encentuate was able to eliminate weak identity and password management practices, implement strong authentication and HIPAA compliance, and facilitate quick and easy access to critical information. Out-of-the-box, Encentuate TCI for Healthcare conforms to the technical safeguards of the HIPAA Security Rule by supporting access control, consolidated user-centric audit logs, and workforce security standards.

"We selected Encentuate's TCI Solution for Healthcare because it was the only vendor to meet all of our requirements," said William H. Cummins, vice-president system resources, Porter. "TCI is a flexible identity management solution, and the ability to integrate physical and computer access with our existing employee badge is a critical piece to implementing a non-obtrusive, yet strong access security solution. We anticipate that by leveraging our existing HID-compliant badges for overall access, we will realize significant savings for a variety of departments, including human resources, building security and network administration. We have already begun to recognize increases in employee productivity and workflow, which are critical in a hospital environment."

TCI for Healthcare is optimized to meet the unique shared workstation requirements of the hospital environment. It supports the range of workflows required by different departments from the emergency room to the administrative office. These include support for automated application launch, frequent sign-on and sign-off scenarios and a variety of screen-lock mechanisms to accommodate the various security and access levels required at Porter.

"We continue to gain traction in the healthcare industry and are pleased that Porter has selected our solution to facilitate and enhance their access security," said Peng T. Ong, chief executive officer and founder of Encentuate. "We have simplified access security for healthcare organizations by integrating physical and network access into something that employees carry with them at all times. With their employee badge and a single password, Porter's staff and medical professionals can have quick access to all of the resources they need to do their jobs. The solution is seamless, security is transparent, employees have fewer things to remember, and IT has fewer concerns with passwords. We look forward to continuing to work with Porter as it expands TCI throughout its network."

Encentuate TCI for Healthcare integrated with Porter's existing facility access system, and did not require Porter to reissue new badges or to make modifications to its existing network infrastructure. As a result deployment time is reduced. TCI also simplifies the administration process by using an integrated and automated process to issue, track and cancel employee identities. Rather than manually deleting usernames and passwords for individual applications, workstations and network access, Porter IT administrators can simply revoke a single identity for all physical and computer access.

Added Ong, "Their IT team is world class in their ability to plan, execute and deliver results. We have been privileged to have the opportunity to work with such a capable team. They have a leading-edge IT infrastructure and application environment that clearly demonstrates their commitment to excellence."
