COMTek and City Officials to Hold Joint News Event Announcing Achievement of National Technology Milestone in Broadband Access

WASHINGTON, D.C.///News Advisory///The first city-wide commercial deployment of broadband-over-powerline (BPL) technology anywhere in the United States is now complete in Manassas, Virginia, according to Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek), the Chantilly-based company that owns and operates the BPL network. COMTek and City of Manassas officials will hold a joint news event at 10:30 a.m. ET on October 5, 2005 to announce the achievement of the major national technology milestone in broadband access.



Both the White House and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have highlighted BPL technology as an important way to get broadband access to underserved portions of the nation. As a cutting-edge technology firm, COMTek is recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.

News event speakers will be:
