Wes Hayden Appointed President and CEO of Genesys

SAN FRANCISCO, June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc., a subsidiary of Alcatel (NYSE: ALA; Paris: CGEP.PA), today announced that Wes Hayden has been appointed president and CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Hayden has more than five years' tenure at Genesys as senior vice president, Americas, where he led a profitable and growing sales organization, as well as previous sales and management experience at Informix, Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment Corporation and Applied Data Research. Mr. Hayden replaces Laurent Philonenko, who has left the company.

Mr. Hayden holds a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He currently serves on the board of trustees for the Glenkirk Foundation in Northbrook, Ill. and on the Board of Directors of the International Women's Democracy Center (IWDC) in Washington, DC.
