The expanded partnership combines FrontBridge's market-leading email security services with Sprint's global network and distribution channels to deliver an innovative email-protection service to organizations internationally. Initially launched in September 2002 as Sprint Email Protection(SM) Services, the service works with standard messaging architectures and, as a network-based service, requires no hardware or software to purchase, install, manage or upgrade. Features of Sprint Email Protection Services include virus protection, spam filtering, disaster recovery, content and policy enforcement, and 24x7 online reporting.
According to internal FrontBridge research, more than 72 percent of business email is comprised of spam -- up from 47 percent just one year ago. This immense amount of spam traffic has driven strong demand among enterprises for email-security solutions, with Sprint Email Protection Services having been implemented for more than one million corporate-email account users in the last 12 months.
