Performance Technologies Introduces Industry’s Highest Density PCI Platform for VoIP Applications

Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of platforms, components and software solutions for the communications, military and commercial markets, today introduced the MTN2300, a media and packet processing subsystem. With 240 ports and fully supporting Performance Technologies’ UniPorte™ Media and Packet Processing Software, it is the industry’s highest density and most flexible VoIP solution in a PCI form factor.

Performance Technologies also announced that nPlusOne, a UK-based Internet telephony service provider, is using the MTN2300 and UniPorte Software to provide the underlying media processing functionality in its vXML Media Server platform.

In addition to supporting media gateway and server functions, the MTN2300 and all Performance Technologies media and packet processing solutions support functionality that enables IP-based applications such as auto-attendant, voice mail, interactive voice response, conferencing and unified messaging. The MTN2300 solution delivers industry leading port density and flexibility in a PCI card form factor, supporting universal port functionality such as fax, fax over IP and data modem termination. It also provides a scalable upgrade path for customers using the company’s previous generation MTN2000 Series products.

"We were quickly able to integrate Performance Technologies’ UniPorte Software with our own, allowing us to significantly shorten our time-to-market," said Aydin Kurt-Elli, director, nPlusOne. "Further, the field-proven packet voice quality and scalability of the MTN2300 platform gives us a reliable, flexible solution today that can scale with our customers’ needs in the future.”

With highly optimized media processing provided by Performance Technologies’ MTN2300, the nPlusOne Media Server delivers unparalleled performance. SIP call control and voice XML-based call flow allow the server to interact with virtually any Web application server infrastructure for truly integrated voice and e-business systems.

"The introduction of the MTN2300 shows Performance Technologies’ commitment to delivering scalable solutions for converging networks," said Sean Aruda, general manager of Performance Technologies’ Voice Technology Group. "The addition of media server functionality to our UniPorte Software further enables OEMs such as nPlusOne to deliver revenue-generating, enhanced services platforms to the market."
