eyeP Media Software Development Kit Chosen for Voice Component of New Aastra IP Telephony System

Aastra Telecom Schweiz AG has chosen eyeP Media software as the voice component of its recently launched digital telephony terminal, the Office 1600IP. Aastra’s decision to use the eyeP Stream SDK software development kit in its new generation of IP telephony solutions reflects the superior voice quality and modularity of the Swiss-based software company’s product.

In January this year, Aastra Telecom Schweiz AG launched the Office 1600IP terminal, part of its new generation of IP telephony systems. The voice component of the new terminal was created using the eyeP Stream SDK, a software development kit supplied by eyeP Media, a voice and video over IP software specialist. Says Peter Schmid, CEO of Swiss-based eyeP Media: “We are very proud that Aastra has chosen our software for its new generation of IP telephony systems.

Aastra is one of the top players in European telephony, and its equipment has always been renowned for its high quality. Its decision to use our software reflects the high quality and modularity of our products, and underscores our ability to meet the requirements of the world’s most demanding providers.” Steven Hawkes, the project leader at Aastra responsible for the new IP telephony system, comments as follows: “In our evaluation we were very impressed to find that the voice quality of the eyeP Media solution was as good as our traditional telephony systems when used within a VoIP-enabled environment. Not only this, but the software’s modularity and platform independence meant that we could integrate it with our proprietary signaling protocol without any further adaptation.”
