Qovia VoIP Monitoring and Management Products Selected by Peoples Bank, NA; Ventura County Schools; and Banks Engineering

FREDERICK, Md., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Qovia, Inc., a technology and marketshare leader in enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) monitoring and management technologies today announced that its products have been selected by Peoples Bank, NA, a subsidiary of Peoples Bancorp Inc. ; Ventura Unified School District of California and Banks Engineering of Sarasota, Florida to provide monitoring and management systems for their VoIP telephony installations.

Peoples Bank, NA has begun using Qovia(TM) Element software modules loaded on Qovia(TM) Ion appliances along with Qovia(TM) Central to remotely manage eight 3Com NBX 100 IP PBX's and one NBX SS3 located at 49 locations throughout Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. The addition of Qovia to the Peoples Bank's VoIP phone system unites all management functions in a central console at the bank's network operation center in Marietta, Ohio. Qovia's remote management capability will allow Peoples Bank's IT team to perform most management functions remotely allowing the IT team to significantly reduce their network operations costs. As we add new branches and offices, we rely on technologies such as VoIP to serve our customers, said Mark Bradley, President & COO of Peoples Bank, NA. We rely on Qovia to keep our enterprise- wide VoIP system running and to optimize efficiencies.
The Ventura Unified School District has adopted Qovia(TM) Element software modules and Qovia(TM) Ion appliances to remotely manage its 25 3Com NBX 100 IP PBX's that are linking all schools and offices in Ventura County, California. The IT team uses Qovia(TM) Central in its network operations center to perform many functions that previously required an IT technician to drive to a specific building. Says Ted Malos, Director of Technology at Ventura Unified School District: Qovia provides enhanced, proactive and centralized management features to our installed base of 2,000 3Com NBX telephones at 26 locations. Qovia really helps Ventura's limited IT staff maintain telephones as just another application within our computer network. When we calculate the recurring cost savings of out telephone strategy over previous solutions, 3Com and Qovia save Ventura over $350,000 annually.
Banks Engineering, Inc. selected Qovia to manage its seven 3Com NBX 100 IP PBX's. Banks engineering, a Civil Engineering firm based in Sarasota, Florida, relies on a single IT professional to run their voice and data networks. Qovia software and hardware products give Banks Engineering the ability to monitor the voice network, receive alerts any time issues are detected; and use Qovia as 'virtual hands' allowing the remote management without making a visit to a distant city. Banks Engineering has offices stretched 150 miles from Anna Marie Island to Naples, said Robert Peters, information technology manager at Banks Engineering. Since I am the only person managing our data and VoIP networks, tools that let me manage our network remotely are worth their weight in gold. Qovia has been the perfect complement to our 3Com NBX system.
VoIP is one of the fastest growing areas in the telecommunications industry, said Jason Kaplan, vice president of sales at Qovia. But customers who have moved to VoIP for increased productivity and lower telephony costs are realizing that VoIP networks require care and feeding to run their best. That's why Qovia's monitoring and management tools have rapidly been adopted and are now running on more than 100 voice networks across the U.S. and in Latin America. For VoIP users with multiple locations or more than 100 handsets, monitoring and management products from Qovia are a must-have.
About Qovia's products
Qovia offers the only monitoring and management tools designed-from-the- ground-up for voice. The company's Qovia(TM) Element software allows IT managers and others who run voice networks to monitor network health, receive notification of performance issues and manage remote network components from a central console. Qovia simplifies the installation by preloading its Element software modules on its Qovia(TM) Ion so a user only needs to install the Qovia(TM) Ion in the rack; assign IP addresses and begin monitoring and managing. Qovia is designed to run on top of the network, outside the critical path of voice packets, so adding Qovia to a VoIP network does not add any additional layers of complexity or risk. Numerous software modules are available for the Qovia Ion. Modules include an Operations Manager; Inventory Manager; Notification Module; Server Resource Management Module; Call Quality Management Module; a Remote Access Manager and a UPS Monitor among others. Additional modules are always under development by Qovia.
