US Business Count Surges in Ras Al Khaimah, UAEA growing number of American companies are establishing and expanding operations in Ras Al Khaimah as the emirate strengthens its industrial, commercial and technology ecosystems, creating new pathways for businesses seeking growth across the Middle East and beyond. More than 700 U.S.-linked companies now operate within Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), part of a diverse community of more than 50,000 businesses from over 100 countries and across more than 50 industries. RAKEZ has recorded an average annual increase of 28% in client numbers since 2021, while occupancy across its economic zones has reached approximately 90%, reflecting continued demand for its business services, facilities and industrial infrastructure. The emirate is also expanding its free zone ecosystem through Innovation City, which is home to thousands of technology companies and is strengthening Ras Al Khaimah's position as a destination for international businesses. As the UAE's first AI-powered free zone, Innovation City is pioneering a new model of digital-first business infrastructure, combining on-chain licensing, a dedicated sovereign AI data center and streamlined corporate banking access as part of the licensing journey. "The presence of these U.S. companies within RAKEZ demonstrates how American businesses have already recognized the immense opportunity in Ras Al Khaimah," said Dr. Carel Richter, Advisor, International Relations, Office of the Ruler. "The emirate is entering an especially important period of growth, with new investment transforming its industrial, technology and hospitality landscapes. Companies that engage now have an opportunity not only to enter a fast-growing market, but to establish an early foothold, build the right partnerships and help shape what comes next. We look forward to showing U.S. businesses and institutions why this is the moment to take a closer look at Ras Al Khaimah." RAKEZ provides companies with cost-efficient business establishment, customizable facilities and ongoing operational support, as well as connectivity to Saqr Port and key regional trade routes. Recent U.S. business expansions include H.B. Fuller's 15,000-square-meter manufacturing hub serving the Middle East and North Africa, FedEx's in-house customs-clearance facility and Flexitallic's investment in a modernized gasket-manufacturing operation. Complementing Ras Al Khaimah's established industrial and commercial base, Innovation City provides a specialized ecosystem for companies working across artificial intelligence, Web3, digital assets, gaming, robotics, health technology and emerging technologies. The technology-focused free zone is designed to support international companies with access to purpose-built infrastructure, data center, talent and an increasingly connected innovation ecosystem. U.S. companies, investors and institutions will have an opportunity to learn more when a Ras Al Khaimah delegation visits Miami, Detroit, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and New York City from September 20 through October 10. The delegation will meet with U.S. organizations, institutions, and state and local officials across these markets to explore opportunities for international expansion, investment and partnerships spanning established industries and emerging technologies.
