Research and Markets: US Surgical Video and Imaging Technology Market Report: Camera Systems, Digital Image Capture and Recording Devices, Display and PACS Monitors, Medical Printers and Light SourcesResearch and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/9j8lld/us_surgical_video) has announced the addition of the "US Surgical Video and Imaging Technology: Camera Systems, Digital Image Capture and Recording Devices, Display and PACS Monitors, Medical Printers and Light Sources - 2016" report to their offering. The market for surgical cameras includes HD and SD camera systems, which each include camera heads and CCUs. SD and HD camera heads can be either 1-chip or 3-chip. Camera heads with 3-chips tend to have better color resolution than comparable 1-chip heads; however, 1-chips are more compact and usually less expensive. Surgical camera systems consist of two components: the camera head and the camera control unit (CCU). The camera head is attached to a scope that is inserted into a patient during an endoscopic procedure. The CCU contains all the electronics that do not have to be fitted in the camera head and processes video signals as well. Still images and videos taken by endoscopic cameras and from overhead cameras are captured by image captre and recording devices. This allows images and videos from a surgery to be reviewed at a later date. Images and videos taken with high definition recorders have a higher resolution, resulting in superior image quality than images that are taken by standard definition devices. Integrated ORs will typically have four to five smaller monitors each displaying a separate image feed or modality. For example, most integrated ORs will have one monitor dedicated to live fluoro, one dedicated to reference fluoro, one dedicated to the endoscope video, one dedicated to patient vitals and one dedicated to another imaging modality such as ultrasound. Hybrid ORs tend to have some smaller monitors as well as one or two larger 8 megapixel UHD monitors. Key Topics Covered:
