Lookthrough and BuildingMinds Join Forces to Build the Leading AI Platform for Real Estate Decision IntelligenceZurich / Berlin, 24 August 2026 - Lookthrough, the Zurich-based real estate decision intelligence platform, and BuildingMinds, the Berlin-based AI data platform for real estate portfolio management, today announced they are joining forces to create the leading AI platform for institutional real estate. The transaction brings together two complementary businesses into one profitable AI software company serving institutional investors, governments and global technology companies, strengthening its position for further international growth. Together, the companies own one of the world's largest institutional real estate datasets with AI-powered decision intelligence across more than 100,000 buildings in 64 countries on 6 continents. Investors no longer view ESG reporting as a compliance exercise alone. They increasingly want to understand how sustainability performance affects asset value and investment returns. The question is no longer "What does my portfolio emit?" but "Where should I invest next?" The combined platform connects trusted ESG and operational data with financial intelligence to answer exactly that. BuildingMinds retains its brand, its Berlin base and its client-facing teams. Contracts, service commitments and platform operations continue unchanged, as do EU hosting and the company's ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications. To ensure a smooth transition, Marek Sacha will remain CEO of BuildingMinds during the transition period before joining the Board in a non-executive capacity. The combined company brings together a complementary client base expanding the newly formed company's reach across institutional investors, public sector and technology partners. "Together, we cover more than 100,000 buildings in a profitable company. That is rare in this market, and it matters to fund and assetmanagers choosing a long-term technology partner," said Marek Sacha, CEO of BuildingMinds. "Joining forces with Lookthrough allows us to move beyond reporting and to become the platform, clients rely on to make better investment decisions every day." "BuildingMinds has solved the industry's data problem. Together, we're solving its decision problem. By combining trusted ESG and operational data with AI-powered decision intelligence, we're giving institutional investors the ability to decide where to invest next - faster and with greater confidence," said Marcel Staub, CEO and Founder of Lookthrough. Schindler successfully established BuildingMinds as a trusted platform for institutional real estate. As its current business is not directly adjacent to Schindler’s core activities, the company determined that its next stage of growth would be best supported under new ownership. Schindler will continue to support this next phase of growth as the largest institutional shareholder of Lookthrough. The combined company has the scale, complementary capabilities and market reach to excel in a rapidly consolidating market. Together, Lookthrough and BuildingMinds are defining a new category in real estate technology: AI-powered decision intelligence that transforms trusted data into measurable financial outcomes. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. About Lookthrough About BuildingMinds About Schindler Media contacts
