Innovative Concepts Announces the Release of Personal Computer Improved Data Modem Version 2.92 (PCIDM(R) V2.92)MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Innovative Concepts, a provider of interoperable data communications and a wholly owned subsidiary of Herley Industries, Inc. , announces the release of its PCIDM(R) V2.92 software. The latest PCIDM software release supports the entire line of PCIDM hardware, including the PCIDM and UIDM(R). The PCIDM(R) is a low cost, portable, data communications solution comprised of a single Type 2 Extended PCMCIA card. The UIDM offers the same functionality as the PCIDM in a rugged stand alone form factor with an Ethernet interface. A software development kit (SDK) and application software for Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP and CE are included with the PCIDM software. The PCIDM and UIDM are interoperable with a wide range of military systems including the F/A-18, F-16, AH-64D, OH-58D, and AV-8B. With a PCIDM or UIDM and a computer, a user can send and receive VMF, AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS, IDL, and MIL-STD-188-184 messages over virtually any tactical digital or analog radio. This allows combat elements to utilize their existing inventory of tactical radios to communicate with multiple platforms that support these same message sets. PCIDM V2.92 incorporates the following updates: -- VMF MIL-STD-6017A and MIL-STD-2045-47001D: Displaying Innovative Concepts' commitment to offer the latest and most up-to-date VMF support available. -- Blue Force Tracker (BFT): Providing a gateway to the Army's VMF satellite network. Only available in the domestic version. -- New AMPGUI(TM) look and feel: Offering an intuitive user interface similar to popular email clients.
