Florida School Districts Select Raptor Technologies as their Panic Alert Solution for Alyssa's Law Requirement

HOUSTON, June 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Raptor Technologies, the leading provider of school safety software, has been selected by seven Florida counties as the mobile panic alert provider to meet the Alyssa's Law requirement for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. The Polk, Sarasota, Charlotte, Nassau, Gadsden, Holmes, and Bradford County school districts have selected Raptor to provide a mobile panic alert system connecting school staff directly to first responders. These districts represent nearly 200,000 students and over 450 schools in counties that are currently using Raptor's market leading Visitor Management safety software. In addition, over 90 charter and private schools across the state have chosen Raptor Alert. Raptor expects to announce its selection by several more districts in advance of the 2021-2022 school year.

Alyssa's Law, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in June of 2020, requires all Florida public schools to have a mobile panic alarm system. The law was named in honor of Alyssa Alhadeff, who was killed inthe Feb. 14, 2018, shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

The Florida Department of Education selected Raptor Technologies' mobile panic alert, Raptor Alert, as one of the approved solutions for school districts to implement before the August 2021 deadline, as required by the Alyssa's Law mandate. With Raptor Alert, school staff will be able to use their mobile and desktop devices to send an emergency alert, directly notifying first responders as to the exact location and type of emergency.
