FinalCode Launches Client for Mac Worldwide

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FinalCode, Inc., a leading provider of information security software, today announced the immediate global availability of FinalCode® Client for Mac. Now FinalCode, a persistent, file-centric information rights management (IRM) solution that protects files wherever they go, inside and outside of the organization, is available for both Windows and Mac users.

Historically, Microsoft Windows has been the preferred desktop operating system for the enterprise market worldwide for common business software applications. Today, the popularity of web-based cloud applications and the bring-your-own device (BYOD) movement have opened the enterprise IT environment to different operating systems and devices. As part of this shift, FinalCode has seen a rise in demand for the Mac OS in enterprises of all sizes and in all industry sectors worldwide.

FinalCode’s latest release addresses its users’ requests to protect Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and image files on both Windows and Mac platforms. These files can be objects of targeted attacks, stolen by employees, or subject to secondary data leakage when files are forwarded to unintended recipients such as collaborators, subcontractors and partners. Support for AutoCAD files on Mac is scheduled for the next FinalCode Client for Mac release.

The new FinalCode Client for Mac version offers a complete set of enterprise-grade security features, presented in the table below.

For strong security, FinalCode uses a whitelisting approach to identify file types by application. Files of these types can only be opened in applications that have been verified. FinalCode also offers secured protection for copy, paste, screen capture, print control and other commands that could be used to compromise security.
