Interface Masters Unveils Packet Master Solution

By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Web Editor

Interface Masters (News - Alert) is a networking equipment manufacturer that specializes in monitoring, security and packet inspection. The company provides aggregation, load balancing, security monitoring, interfaces and more with a system versatile enough for any environment.

The company provides high-speed CPU subsystems with multicore high-speed CPUs, acting as another offload assist for appliances that take too much load, increasing the need to offload more. Their solutions also provide deep packet inspection and load balancing. The company has been in the market for 16 years, and is still going strong.

For the past two years, the company has been working on its Packet Master solution. This is a 10Gb support hybrid system. It performs packet manipulation functions for 10G and 10G fiber, supporting 10G and 1g at a much lower cost using existing infrastructure.

Customers appreciate the non-blocking technology with chipsets, the cost-effective solutions and functionality that the market needs. They also appreciate how Interface Masters adapts systems for customers in specific cases, customizing quickly, and the fact that the company is based in the United States is a point of pride as well as a selling point. In fact, all of Interface Masters’ manufacturing is done in the San Jose, California area.

The company has some government contracts, and has developed a strong reputation in the enterprise space over the years. In the future, it sees the demand for higher and higher speeds as a huge trend, as the demand for higher bandwidth packet classification at a much faster speed will pose a challenge for CPU power. It also feels that 40Gb, cost-effective systems will be in high demand, thought 40Gb is just a small step toward 100Gb, which is approaching at a rapid pace.
