Colocation America Ranks Top VoIP Providers in U.S.

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Between 2007 and 2012 the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) industry has experienced a 16.7 percent annual growth. As one of the most rapidly growing technology industries, there have been many companies that have attempted to succeed in VoIP, but few have been able to provide a sustainable service since the creation of VoIP technology.

Recently, Colocation America (News - Alert) has named the top five VoIP companies that stand out above all the rest: Broadcore, OnSIP, Axvoice, IPsmarx, and Vocalocity (News - Alert). As a VoIP hosting provider, Colocation America is always searching for the best VoIP providers that deliver the highest quality service to clients, making this ranking system valuable in determining which companies have longevity in this unpredictable economy.

“The VoIP industry has been transcending to be one of the most prominent industries, “said Shawn Ahdoot, marketing director of Colocation America. “Since its growth, companies have come and gone, but only a handful were able to make the necessary changes to their website to attract the eyes of viewers today.”

In order to be considered for review, the companies had to have a cached homepage from four years ago. The homepage was observed using a tool from The Internet Archive that allowed Colocation America to view an earlier version of the site. This helped to find which sites generated enough users to be cached and gave a screenshot so that the sophistication level of the site could be determined.

Next, the criteria for choosing the top five VoIP providers included a comparison of the companies from four to seven years ago until now. Colocation America took some things into account that stayed the same, such as specializing on small businesses; as well as some things that changed, like a user interface that became more colorful and user-friendly rather than informative.

“Whether it’s through social media, blogging, or a website facelift, these companies had to do what was necessary to grow to what they are today,” explained Ahdoot.

After the consideration of many sites, Colocation America decided on the five that had been in the VoIP industry from the beginning and have continued to thrive in the increasingly competitive market.

Colocation America has become one of the most reliable data center providers in the United States. Based in Los Angeles, the company was built by professional engineers with a vision of being a fully integrated colocation provider.
