Language Services Associates (LSA), a vendor of multicultural solutions, is teaming up with Action Deafness Communications to remove language barriers for deaf citizens in government in the U.K.

Action Deafness Communications provides sign language interpretation for those who are deaf or severely hard of hearing.

The new partnership will allow local governments in the United Kingdom, such as the Walsall Council in England. The Council, as well as other local governments, now has access via Web video to Action Deafness Campaign's British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters. LSA said it's the only organization in the U.K. offering such a platform.

In addition to sign language, other foreign languages are available for live interpretation over Web video.

Council staff have access to members of both LSA and Action Deafness Communications over the Web portal. The portal lists phone numbers and email addresses of the members, allowing administrators to get in touch with members quickly. End-users can also find contact information for representatives of both organizations.

LSA also offers localization, translation, interpreting by phone and face-to-face interpretation. In addition to BSL, the company offers American Sign Language.
